Editor's Notes
In modern enterprises, Environmental, Health, and Safety, abbreviated as EHS, has become a crucial part of sustainable development. EHS is not only about corporate compliance but also directly impacts the safety and health of employees, as well as the social responsibility and brand image of the company. Within our Group, there are individuals who work quietly yet make significant contributions. They are the pioneers of the company's EHS efforts and the guardians of employee health and safety. Today, we will get to know these exemplary EHS individuals, learn their stories, and feel their sense of responsibility and commitment.
Protagonist:Wu Yibing
Experience in Minth:Joined Minth 10 years ago
Currently serving as the EHS manager in Metal Mold Plant, responsible for the EHS work at RDC and Metal Mold plant and the EHS head of the Ningbo plant.
Awards: Outstanding BU-EHS Manager of the Year from 2019 to 2023, EHS-ISO System Management Expert of the Year, Advanced Individual in Work Safety in Beilun District, etc.
LEADERSHIP
01 Maintain the Enthusiasm of Learning and Continuously Improve Professional Skills
It takes a good blacksmith to make good steel. Professional knowledge is the primary condition for carrying out EHS work. In the rapid development of the Group, it is essential for EHS personnel to maintain a passion for learning, actively acquire new knowledge, broaden their knowledge base, and apply, verify, and adjust it in new work areas, thus forming new abilities to adapt to and lead the needs of new fields.
In recent years, Wu Yibing has continuously learned and successfully obtained professional qualifications such as Registered Safety Engineer, First-Class Registered Fire Engineer, Registered Constructor, and Registered CCAA System Auditor.
Wu's sharing about safety knowledge
on the morning meeting
For Wu Yibing, EHS is not merely a simple safety job but is bundled with the overall sustainable development strategy of the Group. In April, 2022, in order to better promote the Group's energy saving, low carbon, reduce costs and increase efficiency, under the arrangement of the Group, to undertake the introduction of the ISO50001 energy management system, Wu organized six training sessions on energy system construction, 8 on-site energy system counselling sessions, and organized the compilation of 21 system documents.
By April 2023, 29 factories within the group successfully passed the ISO50001 system certification, laying a solid foundation for systematic energy management methods in the Group's ESG, CDP, CSR, customer audits, new order acquisition, and achieving the group's "dual-carbon goals" in sustainable development.

LEADERSHIP
02 Sincerity and Altruistic Thinking are the Key to Teamwork
Information and resource sharing and altruistic thinking are the keys to the successful implementation of EHS concepts and systems across factories, BUs, plants and borders.
Wu's sharing on the Global EHS Study Camp
Wu said, there are many organizations in the Ningbo plant, in addition to the RDC, Molding Center, there are MBU, BBU, headquarters functions and other organizations. It’s more difficult to coordinate and integrate. However, in the core of the management of EHS, it is necessary to form a synergy, which is that the whole staff to participate in order to achieve the goal of preventing the risk. Under the leading of the person responsible for Ningbo plant, all EHS employees need to give full play to their own professional strengths, using the sincere and altruistic thinking, integrating the resources of the large plant, and lead all organizations to act in unison, for example, when dealing with extreme weather such as typhoons, timely sharing of the information on meteorology, checking measures, duty, emergency resources, etc., and in the process of duty, jointly disposing of the risks occurring, etc., so as to achieve the minimum input of resources under the premise of ensuring safety.
Marathon Safety Presentation in Ningbo Plant, 2023
Zhang Longhao, head of EHS of the Group, believes that to be an excellent EHS worker, three basic abilities are important: professional competence, service awareness, and communication and coordination skills, all of which are well exemplified in Wu Yibing. As an EHS manager, Wu has a strong sense of mission, and EHS work not only lets Wu Yibing find his own value, but also he feels fantastic atmosphere in the organization, just as Wu said: "Working in an environment with common values makes my work easier and enjoyable, and at the same time, I have gained a lot from my work."

Protagonist:Ivan Koprivica
Experience in Minth:Joined Serbia Factory of Minth in June, 2021
Currently serving as the EHS supervisor in MAB, MBU, responsible for the EHS work of MAB.
LEADERSHIP
01 Strict Adherence to Rules is a Basic Principle
For manufacturing companies, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) management is a highly specialized field. In Serbia, the government mandates that EHS practitioners complete relevant professional education and training before taking up their roles, and only local employees' EHS certificates are valid. Ivan's undergraduate and master's studies in fire safety, health, and safety laid a solid foundation for his career in EHS at Minth Serbia.
Serbia's unique requirements for internal EHS work regulation demand that factories independently establish comprehensive EHS policies and strictly adhere to them, beyond government regulations. This grants Minth Serbia factory a certain degree of flexibility but also requires a higher level of self-discipline and professionalism to ensure effective implementation of various policies. As one of the EHS managers at Minth Serbia factory, Ivan is responsible not only for ensuring compliance in areas such as environmental protection, waste management, and water recycling but also for continually enhancing EHS management efficiency.

By establishing standardized training materials and clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), Ivan emphasizes that strict adherence to rules is fundamental. He understands that EHS management can only be truly effective if every employee comprehends and meticulously follows these regulations. Ivan is dedicated to creating a systematic EHS training system, raising employees' safety awareness and skills, ensuring that everyone accurately understands and implements EHS policies.
LEADERSHIP
02 Learning from Each Other to Enhance Global EHS Capabilities
During the Global EHS Study Camp, Ivan, representing Serbia, interacted and shared EHS management experiences with EHS managers from various regions, including Jiaxing. Similar to Minth’s “Three Now” principle, on-site visits to well-established plants to study their EHS management models are invaluable to Ivan. The MBU's Huai'an facility and the Serbian MAB plant share similarities in production lines and technology. During the study camp, Ivan visited the Huai'an facility, learned from its successes, and actively introduced these practices in Serbia, sharing them with MAE to further improve the Serbian EHS team's management level.

Simultaneously, Ivan shared his experiences with Chinese EHS personnel, from the simple use of safety belts to complex case analyses. They frequently interact in workgroups, discussing how to effectively share EHS management experiences in the global process, improving the overall EHS level of the Group.

Zhang Longhao stated, “EHS management transcends factory and national boundaries. We must break through end-to-end barriers. In the new business environment, we need to keep pace with the times, break old mindsets, and be willing to embrace new challenges. For example, carbon emission coefficients vary from country to country; employees' ways of thinking and problem-solving approaches differ as well. Identifying commonalities and efficiently addressing specific issues requires consideration from every employee. We cannot simply view EHS work as a safety officer’s job of walking around the site to solve problems. That’s a thing of the past. Every individual should genuinely integrate safety into their work and life, making it their work and lifestyle.”
As Minth advances its Glocal (Global + Local) strategy, EHS personnel face various challenges, including regulatory differences, cultural differences, resource allocation, supply chain management, risk management, employee training, and awareness. These challenges necessitate that EHS personnel possess broader knowledge and skills, including legal knowledge, cultural sensitivity, leadership, technical application capabilities, and effective communication skills. Sharing, integration, and co-creation are essential for further enhancing management capabilities in a complex global environment and ensuring the sustainable development of the Group.

Practical Sharing of Leadership
Three Now Principle
Leaders should personally visit the site, understand the actual situation, respect reality, trace the root cause, and propose and implement practical solutions accordingly.
Inclusive Mutual Learning
Leaders need to quickly identify the underlying logic of different behaviors of employees from various countries, understand their thinking patterns and motivations, find common ground, and better coordinate team cooperation.
Lifelong Learning
Leaders should always maintain a passion for learning, actively acquire new knowledge, broaden their horizons, embrace new challenges, and summarize and form their own experiences to adapt to and lead in new fields.
